What are the MX records?

MX record is short for Mail eXchange record, an entry in a name server's database that identifies the mail server that is responsible for handling e-mails for that domain name. In other words, if you change the MX records at domain1.com to domain2.com, all email sent to domain1.com will now go to domain2.com.

Important notice: If you change your MX record to a host different than the current server, we will no longer be responsible for your e-mail as our server will not receive the messages.

To change your MX Records do the following:

  1. Go to www.joomlinux.com Mail Icon
  2. Click on login LOGIN from the top menu
  3. Enter your login information
  4. From the Client Area click on My Hosting Packages
  5. Click on the View Details button of the accounts cPanel you want to enter
  6. Click on Login to cPanel
  7. From the cPanel click on the Mail icon
  8. Click on the last option Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry)
  9. Click on Change an MX Entry
  10. Enter the new MX entry and click on Change
